It’s clearly a tricky situation and I can understand why the independent panel feared that if they went with the EFL’s recommendation to suspend Dai as a director, that could lead to the club being forced into a sale (the implication being that a new owner could be equally bad), or there being no sale at all. However, the panel also acknowledges that Dai has not been able to provide any evidence of why he can’t fund the club, nor of the current state of progress of a supposed sale of the club. It seems to be a choice between a death by a thousand cuts, or lancing the boil with a risk of fatal infection. Or summat.
