HOPES: Realistically, what do you think is the maximum we can achieve this season?
EXPECTATIONS: What do you think is the minimum we should achieve this season?
PREDICTIONS: Where do you think we will finish this season?

HOPES: win the league. Why not hope for that?
EXPECTATIONS: playoffs. Again, why not? Think this is the weakest L1 has been for a long time and we have a relatively fresh look in the team, management and backroom staff.
PREDICTIONS: again, playoffs.

HOPES: I think the maximum we can achieve is the play-offs, and I think - given the relative weakness of this season - with a fair wind, we could win them.
EXPECTATIONS: Minimum? Top half finish.
PREDICTIONS: Might sneak into the playoffs.

Expectation: It probably does

Hopes: Play-Offs and the liquidation of Swindon Town.
Expectations: If the remaining gaps in the playing squad are sorted, I think should make the Play-Offs.
Reality: Promotion.

HOPES: promotion. Also hoping for positive stadium progress of course.
EXPECTATIONS: a better season than last.
PREDICTIONS: if they gel quickly then then I think we have the players who can get us up. A lot will depend on further squad depth of course.

HOPES: promotion, via play-offs probably.

EXPECTATIONS: top half but with the stadium plans advancing.

PREDICTION: losing a major player on the last day of the transfer window and struggling at the start of the season. And conceding stupid goals due to short goal kicks.

Hopes: Play-offs
Expectations: A huge improvement on last season
Prediction: Somewhere between 7th-10th

HOPES: Given we've actually managed to get most of our business done before the first pre-season game has kicked off, the calibre of signings and their collective experience, plus the fact that L1 doesn't look as strong as yesteryear (notably with struggling clubs coming down from the Champ) - I honestly believe we could be pushing autos.... (!).

EXPECTATIONS: I think we should at least see a top-half finish where we're flirting with playoffs throughout the campaign.

PREDICTIONS: I'm going to say 4th, but at some point in the season (perhaps around Xmas) we'll still believe that autos are on.

HOPES: Ease into the play-offs

EXPECTATIONS: Comfortably top half with a serious flirt with the play-offs and needing a good run to get us in there.

PREDICTIONS: 8th, but having been well in the play-off race until the end.

A couple more exciting additions, particularly a striker with reasonable previous goalscoring exploits, and I'd be more confident of the hopes being reality.
