One would assume Matete will normally play better than that.
Dunno if we were deliberately playing literally everything down the right from defence in the first half to try so that Murphy is in space if/when we can switch it to him, but it meant literally everything went through Long and I dunno, it feels like a tactical flaw to make your worst passer of the ball the person who has to play the most passes.
BUT on the plus side, we could have easily capitulated or dragged ourselves deeper and deeper in that match, and while it was much less comfortable than it should have been, you can’t really argue with the result.
Jordan Jones is such a nob - straight down on the floor the second anyone breathes near him, and the ref seemed to buy it every time. Mad.
