brinyhoof The last one back to Banbury is at 1825 so I am wondering if realistically I can get a bus to the station from the Kassam to catch that in time? Does anyone have any experience of this?
The number 5 from BBL, which goes to the station is roughly ten minutes from stadium to bus stop and then maybe 10-30 minutes waiting and then 45 mins travel time (as a complete guess). But there will be a huge queue and you're at the mercy of Saturday bus schedule fuckery. I've stood there for more than 30 mins waiting for one to turn up before.
Nevertheless, if you stood yourself at the vomitorium (just wanted to use that word in anger) by final whistle and hot-footed the second the ref blew up and headed straight to the bus stop, I'd say you'd make it to the station in time for an 1825 train around 9 times out of 10 or more.
I personally probably wouldn't risk it though if I had a hard deadline and an alternative option.
