He’s clearly very smart - I found his interview with The Dub last week very reassuring - when he’s out of the zone of getting the generic standard pre and post-match questions where the media training kicks in, his responses are thoughtful, intelligent and insightful.
There’s definitely less of a… not sure what the word is… intensity maybe… about him than Manning. Manning was all details, spreadsheets, training, accuracy, must delve in deeply. Style-wise Des seems to be much more about breeding a culture and an ethos, which presumably takes a lot more time.
