Getting the goal just before half time demonstrated the cliché about it being a ‘good time to score’. Luton came out after half time looking deflated and we were fired up.
Big shout out to Luton sub Liam Walsh who was on the pitch for less than a minute before picking up the red card.
The atmosphere in the away end was great - one of the best for a long time. By contrast, the Luton crowd were pretty much silent until they scored. We were well into the game before I realised that there were in fact their fans at the other end of the Oak Road stand (and I was just behind the goal). It definitely didn’t seem like the fabled intimidating atmosphere.
Overall, happy with the point. Yes, we could have gone on to win it, but simply picking up the point away from home is important. I wouldn’t be too upset with just a point at Pompey either…
