Lars I listened to BBC podcast The Hub. They talked about 2005 Argentinian trainer Ramon Diaz. Wikipedia says: It was also claimed that neither Diaz nor any of his five backroom staff were being paid by Oxford United for their services. The source is an article in Independent https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/ramon-diaz-globetrotting-thoroughbred-commits-to-oxford-cause-14074.html This was a fascinating read for me for many reasons. Perhaps somebody knows more interesting details.

JonnyBiscuits Lars If I remember rightly, they were interested in buying the club, or at least taking control of it - so that's why they took the team on without payment. I might be misremembering but I think that's one of the reasons they fell out with Firoz Kassam.
JonnyBiscuits JonnyBiscuits just listened to the dub and realised they said all this so I've not added anything of interest to the story!
Lars JonnyBiscuits Yeah we are blessed with so good podcasts about OUFC The Fence End and T´Manor are my favorites. But from now on I also will listen to The Dub. And then I have to give Behind The Badge and James Constable a good listen. And Oxblogger´s writing is worldclass. Listening to The Dub gave got me curious about Firoz Kassam and of course Oxblogger have an insightful post from 2019. https://oxblogger.co.uk/2019/04/10/midweek-fixture-whats-firoz-kassams-problem-with-oxford-united/
JonnyBiscuits Available wherever you get your podcasts. Once the new episode has fully propagated to the various platforms.
JonnyBiscuits Oh, and I did another blog on Selfy's doodad - here, scroll down past the youtube vids: https://eu.jotform.com/app/232273030311337/page/92
LeftSider @JonnyBiscuits I enjoyed the episode very much. Please, if you have the time, keep it going 👍🏻
TrevorAylottsHeadband Not media as such, but apparently the Yellows Forum have been threatened with legal action, possibly by FOSB or their associates.
TrevorAylottsHeadband Nope. The 'oufc new home' account on Instagram have posted a shot of the tweet with the information saying that legal action is being taken.
JonnyBiscuits I'm no legal expert but presumably if someone has said something libellous, it would be on them and not the forum. EG people don't take legal action against Twitter bcs somebody has libelled them, they take action against the person.
oxblogger JonnyBiscuits Nobody has successfully sued a social media platform on the basis of content posted by users because the platform isn't considered the publisher. They could go after the individual poster, but they'd need to throw a shitload of money at it with only a moderate chance of success. Easier to just threaten action to put the frighteners up them.
oxblogger I imagine, at worst, it's a Letter Before Action, if that. Hard to imagine FoSB have the funds to build a genuine case that unpicks the responsibilities of YF, whoever hosts the forum and the individual posters.
JonnyBiscuits Trying to figure out if this is a naive attempt to try and hamstring an opposing campaign group, or if they're just the kind of people who poke hornets nests and then seek out the places hornets hang out on the internet and get rattled by what the hornets are saying about their poking stick.
oxblogger JonnyBiscuits my guess would be the latter, seems tactically naive to me, if they complain about everything that moves it doesn't paint them as in any way reasonable. Unless they think it’s an opportunity to show that football fans are all hooligans. Which I don’t think anyone genuinely believes.
