Yeah - usually when you get a national journo covering a lower league club in depth they end up misrepresenting something or another, usually through ignorance or lack of attention to detail and research. That piece doesn’t get anything wildly wrong though, but as you say - it’s a piece to explain our situation to the wider world rather than to inform us on any particular detail.
Interesting to see Williams breaking cover and (as far as I’m aware) for the first time mention groundsharing as plan b. We went from “there is no plan b”, to “we can’t countenance a future outside the county, even temporarily”, hidden in the new designs blurb, to now actively using the G-word in interviews.
I suspect that’s partly because they needed the county council to feel that there were literally no alternatives. Cherwell DC will only factor in material planning considerations, and our owners temporarily having to relocate the club is not one of those, so they can speak about the alternatives/back ups more freely now knowing it won’t have any meaningful impact on the Planning process.
