I think there’s some been editing of the narrative about the fan reaction to the Bolton 5-0 in recent articles. Yeah, there were some very vocal nob-heads, but I think they were still in the minority. Skimming back to our conversation on this board, and this is my memory of the general reaction, was that most people were, at worst, gutted and worried that he might not be up to it.
I do not remember the majority of supporters expecting him to be sacked, nor do I remember it being what the majority were demanding.
The way that article is being presented, we were all attempting to hound him out and his success shut us up. I think that’s a pretty unfair framing of the situation.
