Thought I'd set up a thread in case anything interesting happens elsewhere in the division.

Two interesting bits this morning:

Looks like Lee Johnson is going to be the new Fleetwood Town manager - his first game will be against us.

And Michael Appleton is supposedly taking over at Charlton.

That's quite a drop in club profile for Johnson compared with the rest of his CV!

Look's like MApp at Charlton is confirmed. Pleased for him that he's got another gig, even though it's at a basket case club. A solid appointment by Methven and his cronies, but I reckon their fans are gonna have to be patient. Not sure they're noted for that.

Decent appointment for Charlton. They have some great talent coming through from their Academy, and MApp is probably the ideal manager to get the best out of them.

brinyhoof I actually think it's even funnier that the only goal they have scored this season - in the EFL Trophy - was an own-goal.

Just like to say that I'm very happy that Pumpey scored that 98th minute winner. The longer they stay ahead, the more the ludicrous expectation and pressure from their deranged supporters will mount. They'll choke and buckle under it at some point, I'm very sure. Leave them up the top to be shot at and we'll just stay in tow until the right moment.

brinyhoof Yeah, they've amassed quite the strike force for League 2. Not that it seems to be doing them much good.

He did this big speech about how up their own arses footballers are and how they're all too proud/arrogant to step down a division or two to carry on playing. Good on him.
