I think for such a left-field name to get backed from 12-1 to 2-1 in the space of a couple of hours there's more to it than a bit of gossip. My bro-in-law is a Palace fan and he says he's held in very high regard by players and club, has learnt a lot from Woy, will make sure we're organised at the back plus have some flair in midfield.

JonnyBiscuits That's fair comment. Appointing a manager is largely a crapshoot at the best of times and why clubs are keen to go for 'proven achievers' over the unknown. But every single manager had a first job at some point. FWIW, I think when we appointed Manning would have been the time to take a risk on a less-proven choice, although I can understand why the board didn't want to take that risk when relegation was a looming shadow. But now is the time for somebody we are confident can get us across the line and, at the very least, get us into the play-offs.
