You shouldn’t read too much into the first game of the season just like you shouldn’t read too much into pre-season. There is a long, long way to go.
But I am a bit shellshocked by that performance. And the most concerning and depressing thing about it is just how familiar it all felt. That performance could easily have been under KR last season - I thought those days were behind us.
Long way to go, as I say, and I think Liam Manning will hopefully be a lot more adaptable tactically than the previous incumbent…but yeah, bit shit.
