I saw somebody on Facebook complaining that we only won 4-0, weren’t clinical enough, and not increasing our goal difference could cost us at the end of the season. I simply can’t get my head around that. Similarly, at the end of the game at Shrewsbury, the bloke behind me was saying that Des should be sacked now and he wouldn’t even allow him on the bus back. With the Fleetwood and Burton games still to come, and the genuine potential for seven points from three games, that short-termism is equally baffling to me. I’m sure some people get sucked into their own narrative that Des isn’t good enough and lose sight of the bigger picture.
Anyway, Burton next and if we can get another three points, that brings more confidence and momentum. Lincoln go to Reading on Saturday, and they have a pretty decent home record. I’m a great believer that the longer a run goes on, the more likely it is to end at the next game. With Linclon 15 games unbeaten, it’s definitely time for it now…
