brinyhoof Is it possible to make a secret surprise signing these days? Whats the point of the club’s teaser tweets, etc when everyone has been reading about us signing a player all day? And btw…
TrevorAylottsHeadband Rumours I’ve been hearing include: Kwame Poku from Peterbottlers, but £1.5m price tag seen as a bit steep Karamoko Dembélé from Brest/Blackpool for around £500k Sorba Thomas from Huddersfield for £1m, but WBA, Millwall and Nantes also interested
brinyhoof Surely after all these years and finally gaining promotion Cam stays with us? I guess wages will be a factor but he’s done pretty well out of us compared to his team mates. Maybe though he sees our new stacked midfield and decides he’s no longer the big carp in a small pond? Anyway, I very much want him to stay, obvs.
Bspittles brinyhoof Want him to stay, but also want him to sign a new contract. I’d hate to lose him for free in 12 months.
TrevorAylottsHeadband Bspittles Agree with this. I’d be fairly confident that he won’t leave this close season, but once next summer rolls around… That said, the first half of the season may show that it’s too big a step up for him and/or our new recruits are a better option. He was on a sizeable contract already (c.£12k/wk) and would have got a promotion increase so, in that situation, I doubt the club will be offering megabucks for him to stay.
brinyhoof Hull City player leaves training camp ahead of permanent transfer to Championship rivals Oxford United are set to sign Matt Ingram in a permanent deal from Hull City https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hull-city-player-leaves-training-9415820
JonnyBiscuits brinyhoof A newspaper with the words Daily and Mail in its title talking shit? Surely not?!
brinyhoof Do the lads on twitter, ITK accounts, really know as much about football players from across the world as they make out? I just get an image of David Brent emerging from his office with his latest Dostoevsky facts…
JonnyBiscuits brinyhoof Lol no, they don’t have a clue. This is your template if you wanna get involved: “Ah, XXXX would be a great signing - I’ve been following his career with interest for a while now. I’ve really been impressed with his [quote lifted directly from football-bantz.co.uk article from 6 years ago that is directly stolen from a bild.de website article from 9 years ago and badly mangled through google translate]”
TrevorAylottsHeadband From D-Bux last night: looking to bring in one more across the back line and three across the front. I was thinking this morning about a CB who has spent the last two seasons on loan in the Championship who could be a useful addition for us… Luke McNally.
JonnyBiscuits TrevorAylottsHeadband I suppose it’s pretty rare that player comes back when Karl Robinson isn’t your manager, but I wouldn’t be unhappy with that at all.
brinyhoof Any more names being linked? Two ball playing CBs would be nice, judging by the highlights from Saturday.
JonnyBiscuits When are the PL teams getting back? That’s when they said the loan market should take off.
brinyhoof JonnyBiscuits back from where? I guess they all started July 1st and plenty of loans seem to have been arranged so far. Maybe these are the less prestigeous ones and we are holding out for better prospects…
brinyhoof Oh, after 37 years it looks like we are FINALLY signing another Malcolm! https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/malcolm-ebiowei/profil/spieler/512354
Bspittles Players have to have two weeks rest after last playing for their country. But I guess most PL teams are still on tour, earning money and selling shirts.
brinyhoof Bspittles I like the optimism that we will be in for anyone who played at an international tournament this summer!
