Some notes from Pimpey.
They’ve done a good job of keeping Fratton Park well-maintained and renovated. It’s an old, old stadium but doesn’t actually look it other than overall design and architecture. Compare it to London Road, which is falling apart. The away end at Pumpey has had a revamp and is much less shabby and knackered compared to last time I went (2018 I think).
This was my first experience of rail seating, and I’m a big, big fan.
The reaction from a small but very vocal number of nonces among our fanbase to the anti-racism message was pathetic and the club/oxvox/whoever needs to call that out IMO.
We got a bit overrun in midfield yesterday, and I think that’s the injuries starting to show a bit. Vaulks does some things well, but he seems uncomfortable with the distribution element of the game he’s being asked to play. Yesterday in particular I think we could have done with the calm head of McEachran in there and a bit more steel from Cam.
